In Spain, it unfortunately happens that there are defects in Spanish property. Therefore, be aware of this and have the property properly inspected.
For example, check whether the property has a cedula (residential permit). Other questions to ask yourself: Is the seller really the rightful owner? Are there any outstanding debts on the property? This can be found out, for example, through a recent Nota Simple. To avoid problems, we always recommend using a lawyer when buying a property in Spain.
