Applying for a Spanish mortgage through CaixaBank
Chances are you have already heard of this bank: CaixaBank or La Caixa. Many Dutch people who (want to) buy a property in Spain look to this well-known bank in Spain. In fact, CaixaBank has for some time been offering mortgages through their own portal in the Netherlands, also known as Holabank.
Caixabank itself says that they offer many advantages, such as fast response time, a simple upload system and most importantly, being able to submit documents without translating them first. But is the mortgage application process really as simple as it seems?

How does Caixa bank's application system work?
CaixaBank operates an upload system for submitting documents. Handy, because in Spain online uploading is unfortunately still a rarity. Another big added advantage is that CaixaBank simply accepts your Dutch documents without translation. They do that as a service.
But in addition to the required documentation, you also have to fill in the necessary forms from the bank itself, and this can sometimes cause confusion. Often also because, as a buyer, you go into the system blind and expect things to be fine... With something as important as a mortgage application, it is nice to know whether your application will be processed!
